008 | Video - Getting back into the groove, pondering the small things

[April did a curious thing today. She emptied out her pockets and removed the can of beer she kept in reserve there in cases of emergency. In fact, she laughed as she removed it, her arm accidentally clicking on the network device sitting on her hip as she did so.]

Must've gotten a bit happy last night if I didn't even want to put the beer away.

[Shaking her head, April pushed it back into a fridge mostly filled with beer, a cartoon of eggs and some milk. She wasn't big on cooking. A few minutes later, April shrugged into her coat and frowned at the blinking red light shining from her waist where she usually kept the device.]

Hello... what are you--[OH. Shutting off that feed as fast as she possibly can, thanks!]

Happy and beer. They aren't strangers, far as I can tell...

Perhaps not strangers, but not always a welcome guest. You drink as well?

[April was having a difficult time remembering why she drank at all.]

Gonna have to specify which one's not welcome, cause...I get both being a pain in the ass.

[Have a nod.] Yup.

They're only a real pain when they invite hangover to come over and play, but that's the price we have to pay for our fun.

[then have a laugh because she only ever seems to run into the guys] I don't think I've seen you in any of the bars. Unless you're a private drinker.

You're not lying. It's all about the payment.

Little of both. Been too busy for bars lately.

You think they'd charge less for the beer considering what we pay after it.

At least busy keeps you out of trouble. [usually]

I like the logic there. [ pause; okay you have been deemed worthy of information exchange! ] I'm Faith.

Yeah, that's what I tell 'em, anyway.

What others don't know won't hurt them, right? Best to keep it that way.

[pause, a name for a name is only polite] I'm April.

Yeah, gotta do something to keep moving. Maybe I'll see you around out there.

Impressive number of cans I must say. [small chuckle.] I didn't think you were quite the lush.

[pauses and then tries to remember why she did have so many cans in the fridge]

I don't mind having one now and then, and I got a good deal on the rest. I didn't realize you were keeping that close an eye on me.

I suppose that makes sense. Is it a bother?

Only if you never stop to say hi, but it is good to know who might be listening in, Mr... Aion?

It's been a little while.

[He lightly chuckles to her comment.]

Ah, an honor that you remember. It truly has, Miss April. Keeping yourself busy?

[shrugs]

I have a thing for names, but I've been busy enough. The city's a big place to explore after all. And you? I hope you haven't been getting up to mischief. It's always one curse after the other.

Do I give off that vibe? [He lightly laughed now.]

And I take it you've picked up where November has left off?

Well, strange curses make a person do strange things.

[pause]

I may have tied up a few loose ends. Did you know him well? [more specifically, how well?]

True enough. And not in the least. We've only briefly met at the Cathedral during one of his investigations with a scripture left behind by one of the monsters. [Though it wasn't to say he didn't keep his eyes on him there after.]

Do you know of that matter?

I'm afraid he left shortly after I arrived. [much to her regret]
